Planning for Task Remapping
Overview
Before Learn Amp can perform a task remapping, we need to understand the logic behind your task assignments. This ensures that both sides are fully aligned on how tasks should be configured after the remapping is complete.
Proper preparation helps avoid misconfigurations and ensures a smooth transition for your learners.
Functionality Breakdown
Task remapping preparation involves:
Element | Purpose |
|---|---|
Content mapping | Identifying which content should be assigned to which audiences |
Team/Group structure | Defining how your organisational structure maps to task assignments |
Recurrence rules | Specifying how often tasks should repeat |
New joiner settings | Configuring deadlines for users without previous completions |
The Planning Template
We've created a template to help you capture all the information needed for a successful remapping. The template includes:
Content — The compliance content you want to assign (Channel, Learnlist, or Item)
Teams/Groups — Your organisational structure (functional teams, locations, or custom groups)
Content slug — The unique identifier for each piece of content
Type — Whether the content is an Item, Channel, or Learnlist
Recurrence rules — When and how often tasks should recur
Grouping type — How users should be grouped for assignment
New joiner deadline — How many days new users have to complete the task

Pre-requisites
Role Requirements
To request a task remapping, you typically need:
Admin or Owner role to access task configuration details
Access to your team/group structure information
Knowledge of your compliance requirements and deadlines
Before You Begin
Ensure you have:
A clear understanding of which content needs to be assigned to which audiences
Access to content URLs or slugs for all items being remapped
Defined recurrence schedules for recurring compliance training
Identified any team or group changes since tasks were originally set up
Quick Start Guide
Step 1: Download the Planning Template
Contact your Customer Success Manager or Support team to request the task remapping planning template.
Step 2: Map Your Content to Teams
For each piece of content:
List the content title and type (Item, Channel, or Learnlist)
Copy the content slug from the URL
Mark which teams or groups should receive this content
Note any teams that should not be assigned this content
💡 Tip: The content slug is the part of the URL after the final slash. For example, in https://yourdomain.learnamp.com/en/items/code-of-ethics-training-abc123, the slug is code-of-ethics-training-abc123.
Step 3: Define Recurrence Rules
For each piece of content, specify:
Whether the task recurs (e.g., annually, quarterly)
The recurrence interval (e.g., every 12 months)
Whether to use "Does not recur" for one-time assignments
Step 4: Configure New Joiner Settings
Specify how many days new joiners should have to complete each task. This applies to users who:
Join the platform after the task is created
Don't have a previous completion record for the content
Step 5: Review and Submit
Once your template is complete:
Review all mappings for accuracy
Note any changes from your previous task configuration
Submit the completed template to your Customer Success Manager or Support

FAQs
Q: What if our task rules have changed since we were first set up?
If possible, provide two versions of the template: one showing how tasks were previously configured, and one showing how you want them to be configured. If you can't provide the previous configuration, we'll work with what's currently in the system.
Q: What do I do once I've filled in the template?
If you're already in dialogue with Tech Support, Product, or Customer Success, return the completed template to your contact. Otherwise, raise a support ticket requesting task reimplementation and we'll reach out to you.
Q: How do I find the content slug?
Open the content in Learn Amp and look at the URL. The slug is the part after the final slash. For example: code-of-business-ethics-training-0ef9aa55-e7f2-41fe-a161-3fbdc41fec50.
Q: What if I use Groups instead of Teams?
The template works for both. List your Groups in the Teams column and note that you're using Groups rather than Teams.
Q: Can I request different recurrence rules for different teams?
Yes. Create separate rows for each team/recurrence combination, or note the variations clearly in your template.
Q: What happens to existing task data during remapping?
Completion history can be preserved or reset depending on your requirements. Specify your preference when submitting the template.
Troubleshooting
Issue | Solution |
|---|---|
Can't find the content slug | Navigate to the content in Learn Amp and copy the URL. The slug is the final part after the last slash. |
Unsure which teams need which content | Review your current Task Log exports or speak with your compliance team to confirm requirements. |
Template seems complex | Start with a single piece of content to understand the format, then expand to cover all content. |
Previous task configuration unknown | We can work with your current system state—just complete the template with your desired future configuration. |
Need to change rules for specific users | Task remapping applies to groups/teams, not individuals. Individual exceptions should be handled separately after remapping. |
