Q&A: What happens to an exercise when a task recurs?
If a user has already submitted an attempt for an exercise, and a task is then created or recurred for that exercise (via an item, learnlist or channel) with the setting "If learner has completed this content, ask them to complete it again," their previous attempt will be expired. Attempts will be expired regardless of completion status.
This means:
the attempt is no longer visible to the user, on the item
the attempt can no longer be scored
the attempt remains visible on the user's profile and in the exercise log.
