Opportunities (Beta)
Overview
Opportunities in Learn Amp provide meaningful, hands-on development experiences that help learners grow their skills and progress towards their career goals. They act as structured activities—such as projects, coaching moments, or skill-building tasks—that support real-world development.
By offering a catalogue of opportunities linked to skills and roles, organisations can guide learners toward activities that matter most for their growth, while tracking completion and verification to ensure accountability.
Functionality Breakdown
Each opportunity includes key details to help learners understand what it involves and determine whether it's relevant to their growth:
Name – The title of the opportunity
Description – A summary of what the opportunity entails
Associated Roles – Roles that commonly require or benefit from this opportunity
Associated Skills – Skills developed or strengthened by completing the opportunity
Verifiers – Individuals responsible for confirming completion, if verification is required
Opportunities may be:
Self-verified – Automatically verified when a learner marks them as complete
Verified by a selected individual – Moves to "Pending Completion" until approved by an assigned verifier
Match Scores
Learners see a Match Score for each opportunity, showing how well it aligns with their skill profile. This percentage helps learners quickly identify opportunities suited to their strengths and development goals.
Match Score = (Your Skills ∩ Opportunity Skills) ÷ Total Opportunity Skills × 100
💡 Tip: Lower match scores often represent excellent stretch opportunities for building new skills.

FAQs
What happens to opportunity completions if the verification method is changed?
Opportunities can be verified in two ways:
Self-verification – Users confirm their own completion
Verified by others – Selected individuals verify the completion
Switching from self-verification to verified by others:
Existing completions and verifications remain in place
Selected individuals can later remove the verification if needed
If verification is removed, the completion will now require approval by a selected individual
Switching from verified by others to self-verification:
If an opportunity is completed but not yet verified, switching to self-verification will automatically mark it as verified
If the opportunity was already verified by a selected individual, the completion and verification remain in place
In this scenario, users cannot remove the verification
What does verification mean?
Verification confirms that a learner has genuinely completed the opportunity. Depending on configuration, this can be automatic (self-verified) or managed by a designated verifier.
Do verifiers receive notifications?
Yes. Verifiers are emailed when a learner marks a verifier-required opportunity as complete. The email includes the opportunity name, learner name, and a direct link to the verification page.
Who can create opportunities?
Creation is permission-based. By default, Owners and Admins can create opportunities. Additional roles can be enabled in Company Settings.
Can learners filter opportunities?
Yes. Learners can filter by skills, roles, keyword, and sort by match score, date, or name.
Can learners remove opportunities from their profile?
Yes, as long as the opportunity hasn't been verified. Verified completions cannot be removed as they represent a permanent development record.
