Customising the Task Log

Overview

With the new Task Log column customisation feature, you can tailor which information appears in the Task Log and its CSV exports. This makes it easier to surface the data that matters most to your teams—saving time, reducing the need for manual clean-up, and ensuring reports are always focused, clear, and aligned with your workflow.

Note:
Once saved, your desired column configuration will apply to all saved reports on the Task Log and to all future CSV exports across your company. This ensures a consistent view and export format for everyone in your organisation.


Accessing the Column Editor

  • Navigate to Manage > Learning Content > Compliance > Tasks

  • On the Action bar, click Edit columns

    • Only Admins and Owners will see this option


Step 1: Edit Columns

Customise the columns shown on the Manage Tasks view.

  • Add, remove, and reorder columns using drag-and-drop

  • The following columns are fixed and cannot be removed from this view

    • Status

    • Task

    • Individual

    • Deadline

  • You can always click Reset to default to return to our default column setup


Step 2: Edit CSV Export

Define how CSV exports should appear.

  • Choose to:

    • Match the current Task Log layout

    • Or customise the CSV layout separately

  • The following columns are fixed in exports and cannot be removed:

    • Status

    • Task

    • First name

    • Last name

    • Job title

    • Deadline

  • Custom fields (specific to your company) can be included/excluded by selecting / deselecting the related checkbox

    • Custom fields cannot currently be reordered

  • You can always click Reset to default to revert to our default export setup


Step 3: Preview

  • This is to give you an idea of how the log and CSV file columns would look like once the changes are applied

  • A warning will remind you that these changes are applied company-wide.

  • Click confirm to proceed with the changes.

FAQs

Only Admins and Owners can edit column configurations.

Yes—once saved, all users in your company will see the updated layout on the Manage Tasks tab.

No—this feature does not change the My Tasks tab view

No—this feature does not change the Parent Tasks tab.

Yes, now you can do so by selecting “Match columns to log” on Step 2 of the Edit columns flow.
Note: Some columns in our log display combined information.
In the CSV export, these will always appear as separate columns:

  • "Individuals" → First Name, Last Name, Job Title

  • "Task" → Task, Type

Use Reset to default in either step to return to the default view, or go through the process again to adjust the columns to your desired setup.

You can return to a default view by clicking “Reset to default” button on Steps 1 and 2 of the Edit columns flow.

Default view for Log includes the following columns:

  • Status

  • Task

  • Individual

  • Set for

  • Completed at

  • Deadline

  • Assigned at

  • Set by

  • Started at

  • Mandatory

  • Recurring

  • Next issued at

 

Default view for CSV file includes the following columns:
