Contextual Awareness
Volt uses contextual awareness to give more relevant, useful responses based on where you are in the platform and what you're working on.
Overview
Volt doesn't respond to your questions in isolation. When you ask a question or make a request, Volt takes into account your current location within Learn Amp and the context of your conversation. This means responses are more relevant to what you're actually doing, rather than generic.
For example, if you're working on a learnlist and open Volt, it can use that context to give more targeted guidance or suggestions without you having to explain your situation from scratch.
Functionality Breakdown
Volt reads your current platform context (for example, which page or feature area you're in)
Uses this context to inform responses, making them more relevant and specific
Context is used within the current conversation — Volt doesn't retain context between separate sessions (unless Chat History is enabled, which preserves past conversations for easy reference)
Works across all Volt features, including Platform Assistant and content creation agents
Pre-requisites
Volt must be enabled from Company Settings → AI Features
Role Requirements
Action | Role Required |

Use Volt with contextual awareness | Admin or Owner |
How It Works
When you open Volt, it automatically picks up your current context — including the area of the platform you're in and any relevant content you're working with. You don't need to do anything to activate it — Volt picks this up automatically whenever it's open.
If Volt's response doesn't seem to reflect your context, you can always provide additional information directly in your message. Being explicit — for example, "I'm working on a learnlist for new starters" — ensures Volt has everything it needs.
💡 If you want to carry context from a previous conversation into a new one, use the Chat History panel to find your past conversation and continue from there.
FAQs
Q: Does Volt share my context with anyone?
Contextual information is used only to improve the relevance of Volt's responses within your session. See Security, Privacy and Transparency for full details on how data is handled.
Q: Can I turn off contextual awareness?
Contextual awareness is built into how Volt works — it's not a separate toggle you can switch off. If you'd prefer Volt to respond without context, simply provide all relevant information explicitly in your message.
Q: Does Chat History extend contextual awareness across sessions?
Within your current session, Volt reads your platform location and uses it to inform responses. Chat History preserves your past conversations so you can refer back to them and continue where you left off.
