Before You Start

The skill name doesn't exist in Learn Amp—create it first or check spelling

"Unable to resolve skill level"

Skill level must be a valid number (typically 1-5)

"Role name already exists"

Role names must be unique—use a different name or update the existing role manually

Skills not appearing on role

Check the exact skill name matches what's in Learn Amp (case-sensitive)

FAQs

Q: Can I update existing roles via import?
The import will update existing roles if the Role name matches exactly (case-insensitive). New skills and levels will be added.

Q: What if I don't want to set a skill level?
Simply omit the [Level] part—just use the skill name, e.g., Communication, Leadership.

Q: Can I remove skills from a role via import?
No—imports only add or update skills on roles. To remove a skill association, edit the role directly in Learn Amp.

Q: How do I create the skills first?
Use the Skills settings in Learn Amp, or import skills using the Skills Import feature before importing roles.

Q: What's the difference between Role Grouping and Role name?
Role Grouping is a category that contains multiple roles (e.g., "Engineering" might contain "Software Developer", "QA Engineer", "DevOps Engineer"). Role name is the specific occupation.
