Adding Learning Objectives (Benefits) to Learnlists

Adding Learning Objectives (Benefits) to Learnlists

Overview

Learning objectives—also called "Benefits" or "What You'll Learn"—help set expectations for learners before they begin a Learnlist. This section appears prominently on the Learnlist overview page, giving learners a clear understanding of what they'll gain from completing the content.

Well-crafted learning objectives improve engagement by helping learners understand the value of the Learnlist upfront.

Functionality Breakdown

Learning objectives are short statements that describe what a learner will be able to do or understand after completing the Learnlist. They appear in a dedicated "What You'll Learn" section on the Learnlist overview page.

Key Features

  • Multiple objectives: Add as many learning objectives as needed

  • Translatable: Objectives can be translated into different languages for multilingual platforms

  • Prominent display: Objectives appear near the top of the Learnlist overview

  • Optional: You can create Learnlists without learning objectives if preferred

FAQs

Q: How many learning objectives should I add?
Aim for 3-5 objectives. Too few may not give learners enough information, while too many can be overwhelming. Focus on the most important outcomes.

Q: Are learning objectives required?
No, they're optional. However, we strongly recommend adding them as they help learners understand the value of the content and improve completion rates.

Q: Can learners see learning objectives before starting?
Yes. Learning objectives appear on the Learnlist overview page, so learners can see them before beginning any content.

Q: Do learning objectives affect completion tracking?
No. Learning objectives are purely informational and don't impact how completion is calculated or tracked.
