Setting Learnlists as Active or Inactive

Setting Learnlists as Active or Inactive

Overview

Learn Amp provides an Active/Inactive toggle for Learnlists, allowing administrators to control whether a Learnlist is available to learners without completely removing it from the system.

Setting a Learnlist as inactive is useful when you need to temporarily remove content from circulation while keeping the configuration and progress data intact for potential future use.

FAQs

Q: Can learners see their progress on an inactive Learnlist?
Progress data is retained, but learners may not be able to access the Learnlist itself. Check your platform's specific behaviour with your administrator.

Q: Does setting a Learnlist inactive affect completion reporting?
Historical completion data remains intact. However, the inactive Learnlist won't appear in current/available content reports.

Q: Will pending assignments be affected?
Yes. Tasks assigned for an inactive Learnlist will show as unavailable or hidden to learners.

Q: Is there a bulk option to set multiple Learnlists inactive?
This depends on your platform configuration. Check for batch action options in the Learnlist management area.

Q: Should I use inactive or archive?
Use inactive for temporary removal when you plan to restore the content. Use archive for permanent removal or when you want to formally retire content.

Troubleshooting

Issue

Solution

Issue

Solution

Can't find the Active toggle

Look in the Learnlist edit form, often in a settings or status section. Some platforms place this in advanced settings.

Learnlist still appearing after setting inactive

Clear your cache and refresh. Changes may take a few moments to propagate across the platform.

Can't view inactive Learnlists

Adjust your list filters to include inactive content. Check you have appropriate permissions.

Want to make content temporarily unavailable

Use the Active toggle rather than archiving, as reactivation is simpler.
