Adding Pluralsight Content

Adding Pluralsight Content

Overview

Once your Pluralsight integration is set up, content admins can search and import courses from Pluralsight's extensive library directly into Learn Amp. This guide covers how to find, import, and manage Pluralsight content.

Imported courses appear as items in your Learn Amp library, complete with descriptions, durations, and cover images pulled directly from Pluralsight.

Prerequisites

Role Requirements

To add Pluralsight content to Learn Amp, you need one of these roles:

  • Curator

  • Learning Designer

  • Admin

  • Owner

💡 Tip: Learners cannot browse or add Pluralsight content directly – only content admins can import courses into the library.

Platform Requirements

  • Pluralsight integration must be set up and active

  • An active Pluralsight subscription with available courses

Quick Start Guide

Step 1: Access the Pluralsight Browser

  1. Log in to Learn Amp with a content admin role

  2. Navigate to ManageItems from the sidebar

  3. Click the Add Content button

  4. Select Pluralsight from the content source options

Step 2: Search for Courses

  1. Use the search bar to find courses by topic, title, or keyword

  2. Browse through the results – each course displays:

    • Course title

    • Duration

    • Publication date

    • Cover image

💡 Tip: Be specific with your searches. Pluralsight has thousands of courses, so searching for "Python" will return many results, whilst "Python data analysis pandas" will be more targeted.

Step 3: Import Courses

To import a single course:

  1. Find the course you want to add

  2. Click the download icon next to the course

  3. The course will be queued for import

To import multiple courses at once:

  1. Tick the checkbox next to each course you want to add

  2. Click Download selected at the top

  3. All selected courses will be queued for import

⚠️ Warning: Large batch imports may take a few moments to process. You'll see a confirmation message once courses are queued.

Step 4: Manage Imported Content

Once imported, Pluralsight courses appear in your Items library:

  1. Navigate to ManageItems

  2. Filter by supplier or search for the course title

  3. Click on a course to:

    • Adjust visibility settings

    • Add to learnlists or channels

    • Assign to users or teams

FAQs

Can I edit the course details after importing?
Some fields like title and description are synced from Pluralsight and will update automatically. You can add your own tags, adjust visibility, and add the item to learnlists.

What happens if a course is removed from Pluralsight?
The item will remain in your Learn Amp library, but learners may encounter issues accessing the content. We recommend periodically reviewing your Pluralsight items.

Can learners add Pluralsight courses themselves?
No. Only users with content admin roles (Curator, Learning Designer, Admin, or Owner) can search and import Pluralsight content.

How is course visibility handled?
Imported courses default to "Selected" visibility, meaning you need to specifically grant access. This gives you control over which learners can see each course.

Can I remove a Pluralsight course from my library?
Yes. Archive the item from the Items management page. This won't affect the course in Pluralsight – only its availability in Learn Amp.

How many courses can I import?
There's no hard limit from Learn Amp's side. Your Pluralsight subscription tier may affect which courses are available to import.

Troubleshooting

Issue

Solution

Issue

Solution

No courses appearing in search

Check that your Pluralsight integration is active in Settings → Integrations. If it shows as disconnected, the API key may need to be refreshed.

"Course is now being downloaded" but nothing appears

Imports are processed in the background. Wait a few moments and refresh your Items page. Check the Activities or audit log if the issue persists.

Course shows but won't open for learners

Ensure the learner has a Pluralsight account with the same email address as their Learn Amp account.

Duplicate courses in library

Search your Items library before importing to check if a course already exists. Importing the same course twice creates a duplicate.

Course information looks outdated

Pluralsight content syncs periodically. The course details will update automatically during the next sync cycle.
