Editing Content with Volt (Open Beta)

Editing Content with Volt (Open Beta)

Volt's content editing agents allow you to update and refine existing learning content using natural language instructions. These features are currently in Open Beta, available to Admins and Owners with Volt enabled.

Overview

Learning content needs regular attention to stay accurate and relevant. Volt's editing agents make it easier — tell Volt what you'd like to change and it will update your content directly, no manual navigation needed.

This article covers content editing capabilities across learnlists, quizzes, items, and exercises. For more detail on specific update agents, see the related articles below.

This feature is currently in Open Beta. You can enable it from Company Settings → AI Features.

  1. From the sidebar, select Settings, then AI Features

  2. Ensure Volt AI Assistants is toggled on

  3. Enable the toggles for the editing agents you need (Learnlist Updater, Quiz Updater, Item Updater, Exercise Updater, Exercise Remover)

  4. Open the Volt panel from the sidebar

  5. Reference the content you want to edit and describe the changes — for example:

    • "Update the New Starter learnlist to remove any content published before 2021"

    • "Rewrite the introduction for the Data Privacy item in a more conversational tone"

    • "Add two more questions to the Compliance quiz focusing on GDPR"

⚠️ Volt's edits modify content directly. Review changes after they're made and use version history if you need to revert anything.

FAQs

Q: Can I edit multiple pieces of content in one conversation?
Yes. You can work through multiple content items in sequence within a single Volt conversation. However, making very broad instructions covering many items at once may produce less predictable results — it's best to be specific about each piece of content.

Q: Is there a way to preview changes before Volt applies them?
Volt will show you a preview of proposed changes before applying them — if you're unsure, ask Volt to describe what it will change before you confirm.

Q: What if Volt makes a change I didn't intend?
Use your platform's version history to review and revert changes if needed. When giving instructions to Volt, being specific and clear will minimise unexpected results.

Q: Can I use these agents to edit content created by other authors?
Volt can edit any content you have permission to edit — the same permissions apply as when editing manually.
