Whether you're measuring employee satisfaction, collecting feedback on learning content, or facilitating performance conversations, Surveys give you the tools to capture meaningful insights.

This guide will help you understand the different types of Surveys available and get you started with creating your first one.

Understanding Survey Types

Learn Amp offers three main Survey types, each designed for different use cases:

Regular Surveys

The most common type, used for gathering feedback from individuals, teams, or your entire organisation.

  • Best for: Employee engagement, event feedback, company-wide pulse surveys

  • Key features: Can be one-off or recurring, supports anonymity, includes reminders and escalations

  • Recipients: You choose who receives the Survey

Content Surveys

Embedded directly into Learnlists or Channels, these Surveys gather feedback on specific learning content.

  • Best for: Course evaluations, content feedback, learning journey check-ins

  • Key features: Automatically available to users accessing the content, supports retaking

  • Recipients: Anyone assigned to the Learnlist or Channel

Observation Surveys

Designed for feedback about a specific person, typically completed by managers, coaches, or peers.

  • Best for: 360 feedback, performance observations, coaching assessments

  • Key features: Feedback is about someone else (or yourself), can notify the subject

  • Recipients: Managers, coaches, peers, or the individual themselves

Your First Survey: Quick Start

Ready to create your first Survey? Here's a quick overview:

  1. Navigate to Manage → Learning Content → Surveys in the sidebar navigation

  2. Click + Add New and select Survey

  3. Choose your Survey type (Regular, Content, or Observation)

  4. Add a name and description

  5. Create your questions

  6. Set recipients (for Regular/Observation) or save (for Content)

  7. Schedule when to issue the Survey

  8. Review and launch

💡 Tip: For your first Survey, try a simple Regular Survey with 3-5 questions. You can always create more complex Surveys once you're comfortable with the basics.
