Previewing a 1-to-1 Template

Previewing a 1-to-1 Template

Overview

Before issuing a 1-to-1 template to your organisation, you can preview exactly how it will appear to reviewees and reviewers. The preview feature creates a test 1-to-1 showing all configured question sets, activity data panels, and the overall layout.

Previewing helps you catch issues before they reach your team—ensuring questions make sense, activity data displays correctly, and the overall experience matches your expectations.

Functionality Breakdown

The preview feature creates a special preview 1-to-1 instance that:

  • Shows the complete template as it will appear when issued

  • Allows you to switch between reviewee and reviewer views

  • Displays sample activity data panels

  • Lets you test question flow and layout

  • Doesn't count toward reporting or completion statistics

Preview 1-to-1s are:

  • Automatically created when you access the preview

  • Linked to your user account (you're both reviewee and reviewer)

  • Persistent—returning to preview shows the same instance

  • Separate from real 1-to-1s (won't appear in logs or reports)

FAQs

Q: Does the preview affect my real 1-to-1 data?
No—preview 1-to-1s are completely separate. Nothing you do in preview affects your real 1-to-1s, reports, or completion statistics.

Q: Can I share the preview link with others?
The preview is tied to your user session. Others with template access can generate their own preview by opening the template.

Q: Why do I see my own objectives/tasks in the preview?
The preview uses your data as a sample to show how activity panels work. When the template is issued, each person sees their own data.

Q: Can I preview an archived template?
Yes—you can preview archived templates. This is useful for reviewing historical templates or before deciding to unarchive.

Q: Does the preview update when I change the template?
Yes—the preview reflects the current template configuration. Changes you make will appear in the preview.

Q: Can I finalise the preview 1-to-1?
You can interact with finalise buttons in preview, but it doesn't create real completion records or trigger notifications.

Troubleshooting

Issue

Solution

Issue

Solution

Preview not loading

Ensure the template has at least one question set or activity data enabled. Check your internet connection.

Activity data panels empty

This may reflect your actual data—if you have no objectives or tasks, those panels will be empty.

Question set not appearing

Verify the question set is properly linked to the template. Check if it's been archived.

Can't switch views

Look for the view toggle, usually at the top of the preview. Refresh the page if it's not responding.

Preview looks different from issued 1-to-1s

The preview shows current configuration—if you've made changes since issuing, the preview reflects those changes.

Preview button not visible

Verify you have permission to view or edit the template. Only authorised users can access preview.
