Creating an Opportunity
Overview
Creating an Opportunity in Learn Amp allows you to define meaningful, hands-on development experiences for learners. Opportunities act as structured activities—such as projects, coaching moments, or skill-building tasks—that support real-world growth.
By setting up clear descriptions, linking relevant skills and roles, and choosing how completion is verified, you create a framework that helps learners discover and engage with purposeful development activities.
Functionality Breakdown
When creating an opportunity, you'll define several key elements:
Name – A clear, descriptive title for the opportunity
Description – A detailed summary of what the opportunity involves and what learners will gain
Associated Roles – Roles that commonly require or benefit from this opportunity
Associated Skills – Skills developed or strengthened by completing the opportunity
Verification Type – How completion is confirmed:
Self-verified – Learners confirm their own completion
Verified by selected individuals – Designated verifiers approve completion
Verifiers – When using verification by others, the individuals responsible for confirming completion
How Verification Types Work
Verification Type | Behaviour |
|---|---|
Self-verified | When a learner marks the opportunity as complete, it's automatically verified |
Verified by selected individuals | Completion moves to "Pending" status; verifiers receive an email notification and must approve |
💡 Tip: Choose "Verified by selected individuals" when you need quality assurance or manager sign-off on completions.
