Quick Start Guide
Changing Your Language
Using the Language Switcher
The quickest way to change language is using the language switcher:
Look for the globe icon in the sidebar
Click on it to see available languages
Select your preferred language
💡 Tip: This changes the language for your current session. To make it permanent, update your Primary Language in your profile settings.
💡 Tip: If you select Arabic, the interface will switch to right-to-left (RTL) layout to support natural reading flow.
Setting Your Primary Language
Your primary language determines the default language you see when logging in and the language used for email notifications.
Open the sidebar and select Settings
Select Profile & Preferences
Navigate to Languages & Locations
Under Primary Language, select your preferred language
Optionally add other languages you know
Click Save
Changing Your Location
If your organisation has set up locations, you can select your location from your profile:
Open the sidebar and select Settings
Select Profile & Preferences
Navigate to Languages & Locations
Under Location, select your office or region from the dropdown
Click Save
Your location may affect your default timezone if your organisation has configured location-specific settings.
Changing Your Timezone
Your timezone affects how dates and times are displayed throughout the platform, including Event times, deadlines and report timestamps.
Open the sidebar and select Settings
Select Profile & Preferences
Navigate to Languages & Locations
Under Timezone, select your timezone
Click Save
💡 Tip: Setting your timezone correctly ensures you never miss an Event or deadline due to time zone confusion.
What These Settings Affect
Language Settings Affect
UI text – All navigation, buttons, labels and system messages
Translated content – Item titles, descriptions and other content (when translations exist)
Email notifications – System emails are sent in your primary language
Timezone Settings Affect
Event times – Events display in your local time
Deadlines – Task, 1-to-1 and Objective deadlines show in your timezone
Reminders – Time-based notifications are converted to your timezone
Reports – Timestamps in reports reflect your timezone
Priority Order
When the system determines what language or timezone to show you, it checks in this order:
URL locale – If the URL contains a language code (e.g., /de/ for German)
Your primary language – Set in your profile
Location default – If you're assigned to a location with a default
Company default – The organisation-wide setting
System default – English (UK)
Your personal timezone always takes priority over location and company defaults once you've set it.
FAQs
Q: Why can't I see the language switcher?
The language switcher only appears if your organisation has enabled multiple languages. If you don't see it, your company may only have one language available.
Q: Will my language preference affect the content I see?
Your language preference affects UI text and any content that has been translated. If content hasn't been translated into your language, it will display in English UK.
Troubleshooting
Issue | Solution |
|---|---|
Language keeps resetting | Ensure you've saved your Primary Language in Profile & Preferences, not just used the temporary switcher |
Timezone not saving | Clear your browser cache and try again; ensure you click Save after making changes |
Can't find my timezone | Timezones are listed by city name (e.g., "London" rather than "GMT"). Search for your nearest major city |
