Sending Course Reminders

Sending Course Reminders

Overview

Course reminders help keep learners on track by sending automated notifications about upcoming deadlines and overdue content. Learn Amp provides several ways to configure reminders for tasks and learning content.

This guide covers how to set up and manage reminders for learners progressing through courses, Learnlists, and other assigned content.

Functionality Breakdown

Learn Amp sends reminders based on task settings and company-wide configurations.

Automatic Task Reminders

When content is assigned as a task, Learn Amp can automatically send reminders:

  • 7 days before due date – Early warning reminder

  • 3 days before due date – Mid-point reminder (if enabled)

  • 1 day before due date – Final reminder

  • Overdue – Daily reminders until completion (if enabled in Company Settings)

Company-Level Settings

Administrators can configure default reminder behaviour:

  • Enable or disable daily overdue task reminders

  • Set default notification preferences for new tasks

  • Configure escalation policies for critical content

Escalation Policies

For compliance-critical content, escalation policies can automatically notify managers when learners are overdue. This ensures accountability and helps organisations meet training requirements.

FAQs

Q: Can I disable reminders for a specific task?
Yes. When creating or editing a task, use Advanced Settings to toggle off individual reminder timeframes.

Q: Will users receive reminders if they've disabled notifications in their profile?
Users can disable task reminders in their personal notification preferences. However, this may cause them to miss important deadlines.

Q: Can I send a manual reminder to learners?
Currently, reminders are automated based on due dates. For ad-hoc communications, use the messaging feature or send announcements through Channels.

Q: Do recurring tasks get their own reminders?
Yes. Each instance of a recurring task follows the same reminder schedule based on its due date.

Q: How do escalation policies differ from regular reminders?
Regular reminders go to the learner. Escalation policies notify managers and other stakeholders when learners become overdue, enabling management oversight.
