Volt Content Search (Open Beta)

Volt Content Search (Open Beta)

Volt Content Search (Open Beta) allows Volt to search your organisation's indexed content library to find relevant learning resources. It's available to Admins and Owners with Volt enabled.

Overview

Content Search gives Volt the ability to understand and search your learning content — so when you ask Volt to find resources on a particular topic, it can draw directly from what your organisation already has available.

Before Content Search will work, an Admin or Owner needs to trigger content indexing from Company Settings → AI Features. This scans your content library and gets it ready for Volt to search.

This feature is currently in Open Beta. You can enable it from Company Settings → AI Features.

Functionality Breakdown

  • Searches your organisation's indexed content library for relevant learning materials

  • Returns results from your own platform content, not the open web

  • Works alongside other Volt agents to identify relevant content for learnlists, channels, and other creations

  • Requires content to be indexed before search results are available

Pre-requisites

  • Volt must be enabled from Company Settings → AI Features

  • The Content Search agent toggle must be active

  • Content must be indexed — use the Index content action on the AI Features settings page

Quick Start Guide

  1. From the sidebar, select Settings, then AI Features

  2. Ensure Volt AI Assistants is toggled on

  3. Enable the Content Search toggle

  4. Select Index content — a banner will appear if indexing hasn't been done yet. This allows Volt to analyse your content library

  5. Once indexing is complete, open the Volt panel

  6. Ask Volt to search your content — for example, "What do we have on project management?" or "Find me content on health and safety for new starters"

💡 Reindex your content periodically — or whenever you add a batch of new content — to keep search results accurate.

FAQs

Q: How long does content indexing take?
Indexing time depends on the size of your content library. For most organisations, it completes within a few minutes. A notification or status indicator will confirm when it's done.

Q: Does Content Search include all content in our library?
Content Search indexes whatever is in your Learn Amp library when you trigger the index. Content added after that point won't appear in results until you reindex.

Q: What's the difference between Content Search and Web Search?
Content Search searches your organisation's own content library. Web Search searches the internet. They can be used together — for example, Volt might supplement your internal content with web resources if both are enabled.
