Managing Retired Go1 Content

When Go1 flags content in their library as pending retirement or fully retired, Learn Amp surfaces that status directly on your Manage Items page. This article explains how to find, understand, and act on Go1 retirement statuses — so you're never caught off guard by a content gap.

Overview

Go1 actively manages their library of over 80,000 pieces of content. When a course or resource is approaching the end of its availability — or has already been removed from the Go1 catalogue — Learn Amp reflects that status automatically on the Manage Items page.

The Go1 Status column gives administrators and content managers a clear, at-a-glance view of where each Go1 item stands in its lifecycle. You do not need to run reports, contact Go1, or dig through archived content to understand which items are affected. The status is displayed inline with your existing content management workflow.

This feature is designed to give you visibility, not control — Go1's retirement decisions happen on their side, and Learn Amp simply reflects them. Think of it as your early-warning system for content health.

Functionality Breakdown

The Go1 Status Column

When you filter your Manage Items page by the Go1 source, a Go1 Status column appears automatically in the items table. This column shows one of three colour-coded statuses for each Go1 item:

The Go1 Status Filter

Alongside the column, a Go1 Status filter appears automatically when Go1 is selected in the Source filter. This is a set of radio buttons that lets you narrow the items table to a specific status:

• All — Displays all Go1 items regardless of status

• Live — Shows only active, currently available Go1 content (available when not viewing archived items)

• Pending retirement — Shows only content that Go1 has flagged for decommissioning (available when not viewing archived items)

• Retired — Shows only archived, retired Go1 content (available only when the Archived filter is applied)

The Go1 Status Legend

Beneath the items table, a bordered legend box displays all three statuses with plain-English descriptions. The legend is only visible when the Go1 Status column is showing, providing a handy reference without needing to navigate away from the page.

Intelligent Filter Behaviour

The Go1 Status filter is designed to stay consistent with the Archived filter so you never see contradictory results:

• If you switch the Archived filter on (to view archived items) while a Live or Pending retirement status is selected, the Go1 Status filter resets to All automatically

• If you switch the Archived filter off while Retired is selected, the Go1 Status filter resets to All automatically

• If you deselect Go1 in the Source filter, the Go1 Status filter clears entirely

This means the filter always reflects what is actually shown in the table.

Pre-requisites

No additional configuration is needed to access the Go1 Status column. It appears automatically for any account with the Go1 integration enabled.

Quick Start Guide

Viewing Go1 Status for Your Content

1. In the sidebar, navigate to Content > Manage Items

2. Locate the Source filter and select Go1

3. The Go1 Status column will appear automatically in the items table

4. The Go1 Status filter will appear above the table — select All, Live, or Pending retirement to narrow results as needed

5. Review the status badge next to each item. Items showing Pending retirement will display the date Go1 flagged the content beneath the badge

Viewing Retired (Archived) Go1 Items

1. On the Manage Items page, apply the Archived filter

2. Select Go1 in the Source filter

3. The Go1 Status filter will now include the Retired option — select it to display only retired Go1 content

4. Review the retired items and decide whether to permanently delete them or leave them archived for historical reference

Acting on Pending Retirement Content

The Go1 Status column is informational — it does not take any action on your behalf. Once you have identified pending retirement content, you can:

• Review and communicate early — Identify learners who have pending or incomplete tasks for this content and communicate the upcoming change

• Find a replacement — Search the Go1 catalogue or your own library for alternative content on the same topic before the item is retired

• Update learnlists and channels — Swap out the pending retirement item before Go1 retires it, to minimise disruption

FAQs

Q: Can I stop Go1 from retiring content in my library?

No — retirement decisions are made entirely by Go1, and Learn Amp has no influence over them. If you think a retirement has happened in error, your best route is to contact Go1 directly. Learn Amp will always reflect the current status of your Go1 content accurately.

Q: What does the date under the "Pending retirement" badge mean?

The date shown is when Go1 flagged the content as pending decommissioning — it is the date the flag was recorded, not a future scheduled removal date. It gives you a reference point for how long ago Go1 identified the content as pending retirement.

Q: Can I see the Go1 Status column without filtering by Go1 in the Source filter?

No. The Go1 Status column and filter only appear when Go1 is selected in the Source filter. This keeps the interface focused and relevant — the status only applies to Go1 content, so it would not be meaningful to display it alongside non-Go1 items.

Q: Why can't I see the Retired status in the filter?

The Retired status filter option only appears when the Archived filter is also applied. Retired items are automatically archived by Learn Amp, so they only appear in the archived view. Apply the Archived filter first, then select Go1 as the source, and the Retired option will become available.

Q: If I unarchive a retired item, will its Go1 Status change?

The Go1 Status reflects the status as defined by Go1's catalogue. If Go1 has retired the content, the status will continue to show as Retired regardless of whether you unarchive the item in Learn Amp. Keep in mind that content Go1 has retired is likely no longer playable through the Go1 player — we recommend confirming with Go1 before restoring.

Q: Does this replace email notifications about Go1 retirements?

Currently, Learn Amp does not send in-app, email, or Slack notifications when Go1 retires content. The Go1 Status column is the primary way to monitor the health of your Go1 content library. We recommend building a regular review of your Manage Items page — filtered by Go1 and Pending retirement — into your content management routine.
