Who can create/edit/delete a quiz?

In this article you will learn what permissions each system role has when accessing quizzes.

Creating a quiz:

To create a quiz users must have system role permissions, these roles are;

• Learner who is also set as a coach

• Learner Designer

• Curator

• Reporter who is also set as a coach

• HR who is also set as a coach

• Admin

• Owner

Viewing a Quiz:

Viewing a quiz can be done by multiple system roles but there are some limitations. The system role permissions for viewing a quiz break down to:

• Learner - can only view a quiz they’ve been assigned even if they are a coach or manager

• Learner Designer - can view all quizzes

• Curator - can view all quizzes

• Reporter - can only view a quiz they’ve been assigned even if they are a coach or manager

• HR - can only view a quiz they’ve been assigned unless the toggle for ‘View all assessments (quizzes, exercises, scoring rubrics and surveys)’ has been toggled on when setting their system role then they can view all quizzes

• Admin - can view all quizzes

• Owner - can view all quizzes

To view quizzes you would need to click the ‘Assess’ tab in the navigation bar>then 'Quizzes'. You will be directed to a quiz overview page where you can view/access quizzes.

Viewing quiz submissions

Viewing quiz submissions is limited to roles with more advanced permissions, the roles with permissions

• Learner - can only view their own submissions unless they are a manager in which they can then view their managed users submissions

• Learner Designer - can only view their own submissions unless they are a manager in which they can then view their managed users submissions

• Curator - can only view their own submissions unless they are a manager in which they can then view their managed users submissions

• Reporter - can only view their own submissions unless they are a manager in which they can then view their managed users submissions

• HR - can only view their own quiz submissions unless the toggle for ‘View all assessments (quizzes, exercises, scoring rubrics and surveys)’ has been toggled on when setting their system role then they can view all quizzes

• Admin - can view all quiz submissions

• Owner - can view all quiz submissions

If you are set with one of the mentioned roles above and would like to view quiz submissions, you can do so by clicking the ‘Assess’ tab in the navigation bar>'Quizzes'>click either ‘Team’, ‘Group’ or ‘Manage quizzes’>then click on the number under ‘Attempts submitted’ along the quiz you’d like to view submissions for>'View answer breakdown'. You will then be able to view individual responses to the quiz.

Viewing quiz reports

Viewing quiz reports also requires more advanced permissions due to user data being visible

• Learner - Cannot view any reports even if they are a manager

• Learner Designer - Can view all quiz reports

• Curator - Cannot view any reports even if they are a manager unless the toggle for ‘View, edit or delete reports (content log, activity log, people log, reports etc.)’ has been switched on in their system role settings

• Reporter - Cannot view any reports even if they are a manager

• HR - Cannot view any reports even if they are a manager unless the toggle for ‘View all assessments (quizzes, exercises, scoring rubrics and surveys)’ has been toggled on when setting their system role then they can view quiz reports

• Admin - can view all quiz reports

• Owner - can view all quiz reports

If you are set with one of the mentioned roles above and would like to view quiz submissions, you can do so by clicking the ‘Assess’ tab in the navigation bar>'Quizzes'>click either ‘Team’, ‘Group’ or ‘Manage quizzes’>then click ‘view report’ along the quiz you’d like to view the report for. You will then be able to view a report on individual responses to the quiz.
