Learnlists Import with sFTP

Overview

If you have courses to migrate to Learn Amp, you can use the Learnlists Import to create them in bulk. Learnlists are structured collections of learning content that guide learners through a sequence of items, quizzes, and events.

What You Can Do

Create multiple Learnlists at once
Add existing items, quizzes, events, and surveys to Learnlists
Set completion types (dynamic or absolute)
Configure structure (ordered, unordered, or locked)
Add tags and descriptions

Import Process

Ensure sFTP is configured – Even though the CSV is uploaded via Learn Amp, an sFTP connection is required
Upload images via sFTP (optional) – Transfer thumbnail images to your sFTP folder
Import CSV via Learn Amp – Navigate to Settings → Company Settings → Imports → Learnlists and upload your CSV

Completion Types

Adding Content to Learnlists

To add existing items to a Learnlist during import:

Items must already exist in Learn Amp
Use the exact Content Title as it appears in Learn Amp (case-sensitive)
Specify the Content Type (Item, Quiz, Event, or Survey)

💡 Tip: Import Items first, then import Learnlists with content references.

Pre-requisites

Role Requirements

Only users with the Owner role can run Learnlists imports.

Before You Start

sFTP connection must be configured
Items, quizzes, events, and surveys must exist before referencing them
Image files must be uploaded to sFTP before importing the CSV

FAQs

Q: Can I create Learnlists without adding content?
Yes—leave the Content Title and Content Type columns empty. You can add content manually or via a later import.

Q: What if the content title doesn't match?
The import will show an error for that row. Titles must be an exact match (case-sensitive).

Q: Can I update existing Learnlists?
Use the Learnlists Update import to modify existing Learnlists.

Q: How do I add multiple items to one Learnlist?
Create multiple rows with the same Learnlist details but different Content Title/Type values.
