Channels Import with sFTP

Overview

If you have content libraries to migrate to Learn Amp, you can use the Channels Import to create them in bulk. Channels are collections of Learnlists, Items, and other content that can be assigned to groups of learners.


What You Can Do

  • Create multiple Channels at once

  • Add existing Items, Learnlists, quizzes, events, and surveys to Channels

  • Set completion types and structure

  • Add tags and descriptions

  • Configure content ordering


Import Process

  1. Ensure sFTP is configured – Even though the CSV is uploaded via Learn Amp, an sFTP connection is required

  2. Upload images via sFTP (optional) – Transfer thumbnail images to your sFTP folder

  3. Import CSV via Learn Amp – Navigate to Settings → Company Settings → Imports → Channels and upload your CSV

Adding Content to Channels

To add existing content to a Channel during import:

  1. Content must already exist in Learn Amp

  2. Use the exact Item Title as it appears in Learn Amp (case-sensitive)

  3. Specify the Item Type (Item, Learnlist, Quiz, Event, or Survey)

  3. Channels Import

Only users with the Owner role can run Channels imports.

FAQs

Q: Can I create Channels without adding content?
Yes—leave the Item Title and Item Type columns empty. Add content manually or via a later import.

Q: What's the difference between Channels and Learnlists?
Learnlists are courses (structured sequences of items). Channels are libraries that can contain multiple Learnlists and Items, often used for topic areas or departments.

Q: Can I add the same content to multiple Channels?
Yes—Items and Learnlists can belong to multiple Channels.

Q: How do I add multiple items to one Channel?
Create multiple rows with the same Channel details but different Item Title/Type values.
