Question: Why doesn't the exercise submission show as failed if the user received fewer points than set as the passing score?

Answer: This might happen if the exercise is set to have unlimited attempts.

If that’s the case, the exercise can be re-tried indefinitely - and because of that, it cannot be failed.

How do I inform users that they have failed the attempt?

Users do receive a notification when their exercise is scored.

Scorers also have the option to leave a comment on the submission:
