Customising User Notification Preferences

Overview

Users can personalise which notifications they receive through their profile settings. This allows individuals to tailor their notification experience based on their role and preferences, reducing notification fatigue whilst staying informed about important updates.

💡 Tip: Company-level notification settings may override personal preferences for critical notifications. Users will always receive notifications they've enabled, regardless of company settings.


Functionality Breakdown

Users access notification preferences via their profile's Notifications tab. From here, they can toggle individual notification types on or off across several categories.

Content Notifications

  • Content completion – Notifications when content is completed (if on the notification list)

  • Content expiry – Emails when content expires soon or has already expired

Event Notifications

  • Event enrolments – Emails when enrolled for an Event

  • Event changes – Notifications about changes to enrolled Events

  • Event cancellations – Alerts when enrolled Events are cancelled

Survey Notifications

  • Assigned surveys – Emails when assigned a survey

  • Survey reminders – Due date and overdue notifications

  • Survey comments – Alerts when completed surveys receive comments

Task Notifications

  • Tasks set – Notifications when tasks are assigned

  • Task reminders – Due date and overdue alerts

  • Task recurrence – Emails when tasks are due to recur

Messaging and Mentions

  • Messages – Emails for new messages and replies

  • @ Mentions – Notifications when mentioned in comments, discussions, and Q&A

Objective Notifications

  • Assigned objective – Emails when assigned an Objective

  • Objective reminders – Due date and overdue notifications

  • Assigned key result – Alerts when assigned to a Key Result

1-to-1 Notifications

  • Assigned 1-to-1 – Emails when assigned to a 1-to-1

  • 1-to-1 reminders – Due date and overdue notifications

  • 1-to-1 comments – Alerts when 1-to-1s receive comments

Activity Digest Notifications

Users can also configure digest email frequency for platform activity summaries:

  • My activity digest – Summary of your own activity

  • Team activity digest – Summary of your team's activity

  • Company activity digest – Summary of company-wide activity

Frequency options: Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Never.

Accessing Your Notification Preferences

  1. Click your profile avatar in the sidebar

  2. Select Profile & Preferences

  3. Navigate to the Notifications tab

  4. Toggle notifications on or off as desired

  5. Changes save automatically

Configuring Activity Digest Frequency

  1. In the Notifications tab, scroll to the Activity Digest section

  2. For each digest type, select your preferred frequency:

    • Daily – Receive a summary each day

    • Weekly – Receive a summary once per week

    • Monthly – Receive a summary once per month

    • Never – Disable this digest entirely

  3. Changes save automatically


FAQs

Q: Why am I still receiving notifications I've turned off?
Company Settings can override personal preferences for certain notifications. Contact your administrator to understand which notifications are mandatory.

Q: Can I turn off all notifications at once?
There's no single toggle for all notifications. You'll need to disable each category individually.

Q: Will I miss important information if I disable notifications?
Consider keeping task and event notifications enabled to avoid missing deadlines. You can always check the platform directly for updates.

Q: What's the difference between individual notifications and digest emails?
Individual notifications are sent when specific events occur (e.g., a new task assigned). Digest emails summarise multiple activities into a single email at your chosen frequency.
