Tasks: User has the same content assigned multiple times and it's affecting completion
Scenerio:
User has been assigned tasks and completed them. Then, they have been added to a different Group and re-issued the tasks. Some completions got reset and some remained.
Why are some re-assigned tasks considered incomplete?
Task 1 was set first, then completed
Task 2 was set after this was completed
If Task 2 was set to ‘Require to complete again’
This means that Task 2 reset the completion.
Note: If Task 2 had been set with a deadline before Task 1, or the ‘reset completion’ wasn’t checked, completion would not reset and Task 2 would have been marked as completed.
How could these have been set up to prevent this?
These settings allow for businesses to give flexibility which can be very powerful. Occasionally this can lead to overlaps of functionality. Consider:
Why user was issued the same content multiple times: do they need to be in Groups/Teams that were assigned the task?
Are any of these tasks individually created for the user before they were assigned Group/Team tasks?
Consider not checking ‘Require to complete’ completion (only if you don't expect users completing content continually)
What are options now it has happened?
Use the ‘Mark as complete’ functionality
Get user to re-complete
