Integration Summary
Zoom is a cloud-based communication platform that facilitates video and audio conferencing, and remote collaboration.

Connect to Zoom to automatically set up Zoom meetings in Learn Amp, and add your most engaging, unmissable sessions as video items into your company library.

Main Features

  • Our integration allows you to automatically set a Zoom meeting link as the “location” for an Event on Learn Amp (such as a webinar), so that all your employees will be at the right place at the right time.

  • If you’ve enabled this Zoom meeting to be recorded and stored to Zoom’s Cloud, you’ll be able to automatically upload the recording as an item, and send it out to the attendees or even the whole company.

  • Don’t let the information from great webinars get lost - upload them to Learn Amp as a resource for your learners to come back to!

Known Limitations/ Considerations

Calendar events: This integration provides a 1-way sync between Learn Amp events and email applications like Outlook. Any changes to the Learn Amp event (e.g. event is cancelled or date is changed) will update the email invitation. However, if a user declines the meeting invitation they will not be unenrolled from the event in Learn Amp.

Event attendance: To register event attendance in Learn Amp, Zoom meeting attendees should join with an email address that matches their user profile in Learn Amp. Any attendees without a corresponding email address will not be marked as attended in Learn Amp.

Saving Zoom recordings as Items: To save Zoom meeting recordings to your Learn Amp library, meetings must be recorded to the cloud. Recordings saved to your computer will not automatically sync with your Learn Amp library and will require a manual upload.

How the Platforms Connect

Learn Amp connects to a private application your Zoom account owner publishes to the Zoom Marketplace. The app’s credentials are shared with Learn Amp and authenticated using 0Auth.

Our integration with Zoom uses the Learn Amp events feature. You will be able to set a Zoom meeting as the location for an event. To select a host, Zoom will return a list of licenced zoom users to select from. Selecting a host will create a meeting link via the selected host’s profile.

Zoom meetings recorded to the cloud will be processed by Learn Amp based on your Zoom settings and recordings uploaded to Learn Amp as an item.

Permissions/Scopes Required

When you connect to Zoom, you will be asked to grant Learn Amp the following permissions:

 View all user meetings (meeting:read:admin)

We use this to create and join online meetings via zoom.

View and manage all user meetings (meeting:write:admin)

We use this to create and join online meetings via zoom.

 View all user information (user:read:admin)

We use this to fetch your Zoom users, so that you can select a host for each Zoom meeting

View all user recordings (recording:read:admin) (optional)

We use this to allow you download Zoom recordings into Learn Amp items.

Please note: Learn Amp does not read any of your conversations, files or history within Zoom.
