This article will explain the difference between choosing an 'Absolute' or 'Dynamic' Learnlist.
When a user completes a Learnlist, they will receive a score of 100%. When you are creating a new Learnlist, you will be asked how you want this completion to be calculated.
There are two options: Absolute or Dynamic.
What is the difference?
Absolute:
- Once a user has completed and submitted a Learnlist, they will receive a score of 100%.
- If you then add more content to this Learnlist, their score will not change.
- Their score will remain at 100%, even though now there is new content within the Learnlist that they have not completed.
- No matter how much new content is added to this Learnlist, their score will remain at 100%.
Dynamic:
- Imagine that a user has completed a Learnlist, and has a score of 100%.
- Then, you add new items to this Learnlist, that they won't have completed.
- Their score will then drop to below 100%, and will only go back to 100% once they have completed the new items that have been added to the Learnlist.
In summary:
- If you add more items to an absolute Learnlist that has been completed, the user's score will not change.
- If you add more items to a dynamic Learnlist that has been completed, the user's score will change from 100%.
