Task Notifications
This page contains details of notifications issued about tasks, to which users they are sent, what triggers these notifications and if they are issued as standard, or need to be configured in the task settings.
New Task (Learner)
To user assigned the task.
For confirmed users, it’s sent immediately when the task is issued.
For un-confirmed users, it’s sent out immediately once they ‘confirm’ (i.e. sign in for first time).
Unless ‘skip new joiner task notifications’ is enabled in the back end (which it is - to prevent backlog of task emails pinging out from what we imported, but this can be turned back on, just let me know).
This new task notification can also be disabled, by selecting ‘skip new task email’ on individual tasks you create.
New Task Deadline (Learner)
To user assigned the task.
Sent immediately when a deadline is changed.
Task Reminder (Learner)
To user assigned the task.
7 days before deadline.
And, 1 day before deadline.
Task Overdue (Learner)
To user assigned the task.
Sent 1 day after ‘complete by date’
Task Overdue (Other, e.g. Manager)
To users you select in the task settings.
Sent 1 day after ‘complete by date’
Only issued if select this option when creating a task.
Task Completed (Other, e.g. Manager)
To users you select in the task settings.
Sent immediately when the task is completed.
Only issued if select this option when creating a task.
You can also use Escalation Policies to send more notifications to managers, e.g.
A task is due within X days (customisable)
A learner is overdue X number of times (customisable)
