What are Teams and how can I use them?

In this article, you will learn what Teams are and how you can use them on the platform.

What are Teams?

Teams are ways to group users across the platform. Teams are usually built to match the hierarchy of the organisation, which helps to deliver training that is needed for competencies in users' roles. This is because you can assign content or make content visible to specific Teams.

How do I create a Team?

In the top navigation bar, select the + icon > Select Team

Go through the creator:

Step 1: Key details

  • Choose a tile image for the Team

  • Give the Team a name

  • Write in your descriptions

  • Choose appropriate tags to be linked with the Team

  • Click Next

Step 2: Type

  • Select the type of Team you are setting up i.e standard/social

There are different options for each type, so please select your options accordingly

  • Click Next

Step 3: Managers

  • Designate a manager by searching for a name

  • Select whether you want to add any secondary or stand-in managers

  • Click Next

Step 4: Privacy

  • Select how users can find or join the Team

Public - Visible to all - users can join/leave the Team as they wish

Private - Visible to all - users must be invited or can apply to join the Team

Secret - Hidden from public view - users must be invited to join the Team

Step 5: Hierarchy

  • Decide if your Team will have a Parent or Sub-team

Step 6: People

  • Search for Team members

Step 7: Complete the creation

  • Once you’re happy with the results, click Done. You’ll receive a screen confirming the creation of the Team or the creator will close.

Step 1: Upload the CSV file

  • You can use our CSV template to help avoid any errors upon completion

  • Please view the top tips at the bottom of the wizard, as the information there is essential to know

  • Click Next

Step 2: Review

  • Double-check your CSV by making sure the CSV Column Label matches the Learn Amp Field

Step 3: Confirmation

  • Confirm the creation of your Teams

  • Click Next

Step 4: Complete the creation

  • Once you’re happy with the results, click Done. You’ll receive a screen confirming the creation of the Teams or the creator will close.

How can I be certain I have created the Team properly?

You can double-check to see whether you have created the team in the appropriate way by using the following pathway:

In the top navigation bar, select People > Click on Teams chart

This chart gives an overview of all of the teams within the company
