Channel Creation (Open Beta)

Volt Channel Creator (Open Beta) allows you to create curated channels from your content library using a natural language conversation with Volt. It's available to Admins and Owners with Volt enabled.

Overview

Channels are a powerful way to organise and surface relevant content for your learners. Volt's Channel Creator takes the effort out of curation — tell Volt what the channel is about and who it's for, and it will pull together relevant content from your library.

This feature is currently in Open Beta. You can enable it from Company Settings → AI Features.

Functionality Breakdown

• Creates curated channels from your organisation's content library

• Uses natural language instructions to understand the theme, audience, and goals for the channel

• Draws on indexed content to suggest relevant learning resources

• Generates a structured channel ready for review and publishing

Pre-requisites

• Volt must be enabled from Company Settings → AI Features

• The Channel Creator toggle must be active on the AI Features settings page

• Your content library should be indexed for best results (see Content Indexing for AI Search)

Role Requirements

Quick Start Guide

1. From the sidebar, select Settings, then AI Features

2. Ensure Volt AI Assistants is toggled on

3. Enable the Channel Creator toggle

4. Ensure your content library is indexed (go to AI Features and select Index content if not already done)

5. Open the Volt panel from the sidebar

6. Describe the channel you want to create — for example, "Create a channel for new managers on essential leadership skills" or "Build a channel on data security for all employees"

7. Review the suggested content, make any tweaks, and publish when you're happy with it

FAQs

Q: Where does the Channel Creator find content?
Channel Creator draws from your indexed content library. The more comprehensive your content index, the better the results. See Content Indexing for AI Search for guidance on indexing.

Q: Can I edit the channel after Volt creates it?
Yes. Volt creates a draft channel that you can review, edit, and refine before publishing. You're always in control of the final output.

Q: What if my content library doesn't have relevant content for the channel topic?
If your library doesn't have much on that topic, Volt won't have much to work with. You could supplement with web-sourced content (if Web Search is enabled) or upload files to provide additional source material.
