Learn how to create a new Exercise.
This article will explain how to add an Exercise as an assessment.
We'll guide you through the steps to create an Exercise.Â
How do I create a new Exercise?Â
In the top navigation bar, select the + icon.
Assessment > Exercise.
Â
Step 1: Exercise overviewÂ
In Step 1, you simply have to summarise the Exercise, along with any details you'd like to include in the Description box.
Step 2: Exercise overviewÂ
In Step 2, you can now choose either the piece of content or the action that this Exercise is to be attached to.Â
In both cases, you'll be able to choose from a dropdown what you'd like the Exercise to be related to.
Step 3: Submission details
In this section, choose what you want your users to upload.
You can specify a file upload, written submission, audio upload, or self-recording.
You can choose whether this should be required or not.Â
Step 4: AssessmentÂ
Choose how the Exercise will be assessed, from three different options.
No assessment:Â No scoring will be attached to this Exercise submission.
Scored: The user can receive a score (numerical) for their efforts on this Exercise. You can also select who will score their submission (see screenshot below).
Manually pass / fail: The person you select to pass / fail submission will have to manually sign off this submission. There is a binary choice here.
Step 5: AssessmentÂ
Now's the time to choose completion details.Â
Choose how you want the Exercise to be marked as complete:
Learner submission:Â When the learner submits the exercise, this item is automatically completed.
Manual sign off (pass/fail):Â When the chosen assessor manually signs off the submission, the item is complete.Â
Â
No. attempts allowed:Â Choose how many times the user will be allowed to complete the Exercise. If a limit is set, they will not be able to exceed this limit (e.g. 1, 2, 3 times).
Notifications:Â
Choose who should receive notifications and what notifications should be sent.Â
Step 6: Done!
Nice work, you're all done!
