Overview

Notifications in Learn Amp keep users informed about important activities, deadlines, and updates across the platform. They help drive engagement by alerting learners about new tasks, upcoming deadlines, event changes, and content completions.

Learn Amp supports multiple notification channels—email notifications, in-app alerts, and digest summaries—giving users flexibility in how they stay informed.

Functionality Breakdown

Learn Amp notifications cover a wide range of platform activities:

Email Notifications

Email notifications are sent for key activities including:

  • Tasks – New assignments, due date reminders, overdue alerts, and completion confirmations

  • Events – Enrolments, cancellations, session reminders, and attendance confirmations

  • Content – Completion alerts, expiry warnings, and new content notifications

  • Exercises – Submission confirmations, scoring notifications, and comment replies

  • 1-to-1s – Meeting assignments, reminders, and completion notifications

  • Objectives & Key Results – Assignment alerts, progress updates, and deadline reminders

  • Surveys – New survey assignments, due date reminders, and comment notifications

In-App Notifications

Users receive real-time alerts within the platform for messages, mentions, and activity updates. These appear via the notification bell icon in the navigation bar.

Digest Notifications

Admins can configure digest emails that summarise activity updates for the whole company, specific teams, or individual users. These provide a consolidated view of platform activity without overwhelming users with individual emails.

Scheduled Maintenance Messages

When system maintenance is planned, Learn Amp displays a message to all users on the site before the scheduled work, keeping everyone informed of any potential platform downtime.

FAQs

Q: What email notifications can users choose to receive or opt out of?
Users can customise their preferences via their profile's Notifications tab. They can toggle notifications for content completion, events, surveys, tasks, messaging, objectives, and 1-to-1s. Note that company-enabled notifications may override personal opt-out preferences.

Q: How often are task notifications sent out?
Task notifications follow this schedule: immediate notification when assigned (unless disabled), reminders at 7 days before due, 3 days before due, and the day before. Overdue reminders are sent daily if enabled in Company Settings.

Q: What notifications get stopped when selecting 'Do not notify' in advanced task settings?
Only the initial task assignment notification is stopped. Reminder emails for due dates and overdue tasks will still be sent unless the user disables them in their personal profile.

Q: If I set a task with 'Do not send the user a new task notification email', does this stop all notifications?
No—this only stops the initial "new task" email sent when the task is assigned. Users will still receive reminder emails (Due in 7 days, Due in 3 days, Due tomorrow, Overdue) based on the task's Advanced Settings.

Q: How often do escalation policy notifications send?
Escalation notifications follow the schedule configured in your escalation policy settings. Contact your administrator for specific timing details.

Q: Are task notification emails sent if the user hasn't accepted their invitation yet?
No. Users must have a 'Confirmed' status to receive task notifications. Users with other statuses (Invited, Pending) will not receive these emails until they accept their invitation and confirm their account.

Q: Why am I not receiving exercise notifications?
Check your account status—you must have a 'Confirmed' status to receive notifications. If your status shows as Invited, Pending, or another non-confirmed state, you won't receive exercise notifications until you accept your invitation.

Q: What happens when users click 'Respond to' in exercise comment notification emails?
Clicking 'Respond to' opens the exercise in Learn Amp where users can view the comment thread and add their reply directly within the platform.

Q: Is there a way for emails sent to 'no-reply@notifications.learnamp.com' to be forwarded to our company email?
No. The no-reply address is Learn Amp's dedicated notification email and cannot be redirected. If you'd like this feature, please submit it via the Product feedback form for consideration.

Q: Can I be notified when new content is added to a Channel?
Learn Amp doesn't support automatic notifications for new Channel content. However, you can use Featured Widgets on Dashboards to highlight new content, or enable Dynamic Channels which show an "Updated" label when new content is added.
