How to enable the account switcher

This article briefly describes what the Account Switcher is and how to enable it. From a more in-depth article on the Account switcher please click here.

This feature will only be available if you have multiple accounts on the platform (different platform domains).

What is the Account switcher feature?

The account switcher is an easy way to switch between your company domains. It is located when clicking on your avatar, the option to add or switch from an account appears in the right corner of the box.

  • From here you can easily switch to a different company domain.

  • You can add up to 5 accounts to switch between

  • You can also add and remove accounts to switch between

How to enable the account switcher

If you already have multiple accounts, you will be able to switch between them by clicking on your user icon>account logo in the right upper corner.

 

How to add an account to the account switcher?

To add it, simply click your user icon and the + icon within the window.

There, you can view your accounts and have an option to Add another account.

To be able to add a new account to the switcher, you first need to accept an invitation to that platform. If you can’t find your invitation e-mail, please contact your manager or site admin - only they are authorised to add you to an account.

Clicking on Add another account option will take you to a new window, where you’ll need to enter the domain of the new account you would like to add.

 

What Permissions do I need?

  • An invitation to the account you’re adding

  • Any system role can use an account switcher

Is there anything I need to be aware of before setting up?

  • When switching is enabled, please always make sure you’re in the correct account before performing any impactful action

  • You can copy content across platforms. If you would like to do that - please raise a ticket with our support.

  • If you’re trying to open a link and you get an error - it is possible, that you are still switched to the other account. In this case, it will be necessary to switch to the correct domain before opening the link.

 

How do I add a manager to another site?

  • A user profile will need to be created for the user on the other site, in order for them to have access.

  • Once the user’s profile has been created their status will be not yet invited, invite scheduled, or invite pending.

  • Once the user’s profile has been created, you can follow the steps above to set up the account switcher for them. This will allow the user to be able to easily switch between accounts whilst using the platform.
