To-Do List Widget Configuration

To-Do List Widget Configuration

Overview

The To-Do List widget displays upcoming tasks and activities that require a user's attention. Unlike other widgets that show general content, the To-Do List is highly configurable—you can choose exactly which types of activities appear, helping users focus on what matters most.

By customising the To-Do List settings, you can create focused experiences: a learning-only To-Do List, a meetings-focused list, or a comprehensive view of all upcoming activities.

FAQs

Q: Why doesn't my To-Do List show assigned Channels?
Channels appear in the To-Do List only when they're "Tasked Carousels" (assigned with deadlines). Regular visible Channels don't appear here—use the Assigned Channels widget instead.

Q: What's the difference between Tasks and Tasked Learnlists?
Tasks are individual content assignments. Tasked Learnlists are entire learning pathways assigned as a single task. Both have deadlines but are tracked differently.

Q: Why isn't the 1:1 Meetings option showing?
The 1:1 feature must be enabled for your organisation. If it's not enabled, the option won't appear in the widget configuration.

Q: Can I show overdue items in the To-Do List?
Yes, overdue items are included by default and typically appear at the top of the list. The time range setting only affects future items.

Q: Why does my To-Do List show "No upcoming activities"?
This means the user has no pending activities within the configured time range for the enabled content types. This is actually good news—they're up to date!

Q: Can learners customise their own To-Do List?
No. The widget configuration is set by administrators. Learners see the list as configured but cannot change which content types appear.

Troubleshooting

Issue

Solution

Issue

Solution

Widget shows no items

Check time range isn't too narrow, and that the user has assigned activities

Missing content types in settings

Ensure the relevant features (Events, 1:1s, Surveys) are enabled for your organisation

1:1s not appearing

Verify 1:1s are scheduled for the user and fall within the time range

Events not showing

Confirm the user is enrolled in event sessions within the time range

Channels not appearing

Channels must be "tasked" (assigned with deadlines) to appear—use Assigned Channels widget for non-tasked channels

Surveys not showing

Check that surveys are assigned to the user and pending completion
