Overview

Additional Recommended Content allows you to include optional learning materials at the end of a Learnlist without affecting the learner's completion score. These items appear in a separate section and give motivated learners the opportunity to explore further.

This feature is ideal for providing supplementary resources, deeper dives into topics, or stretch content for those who want to go beyond the core curriculum.


Functionality Breakdown

When you enable Additional Recommended Content on a Learnlist:

  • A dedicated section appears at the bottom of the Learnlist sidebar

  • Items in this section are clearly marked as optional

  • Learners can complete these items without affecting their overall completion percentage

  • Progress on optional items is still tracked in the learner's activity history

Pre-requisites

Before adding Additional Recommended Content:

  • You must have edit permissions for the Learnlist

  • The Learnlist must already exist (you can enable this feature during creation or editing)

  • Content items you want to add must be available in your library

Role Requirements

To enable or manage Additional Recommended Content, you must have one of the following roles:

  • Owner – Full access within their company

  • Admin – Administrative access within their company

  • Learning Designer – Can create and manage learning content

  • Curator – Can curate and manage content


Quick Start Guide

Enabling Additional Recommended Content

  1. Navigate to your Learnlist

  2. Click the three dots menu (⋮) in the sidebar

  3. Select Edit

  4. In the Extra Options section, enable Additional Recommended Content

  5. Save your changes

Adding Content to the Optional Section

  1. Open your Learnlist

  2. Click the three dots menu (⋮) in the sidebar

  3. Select Add content and add the items you want

  4. Click the three dots menu again and select Re-order Learnlist

  5. Drag the items you want to be optional into the Additional Recommended Content section at the bottom

  6. Save your changes

Q: Does completing optional content affect the learner's Learnlist score?
No. Optional items in the Additional Recommended Content section do not count toward the completion percentage or pass score.
